Mahanagar Telephone (Mauritius) Limited, a subsidiary of MTNL – A Govt. of India Enterprise, is a CDMA & GSM technology based telecom operator. MTML is one of the leading telecom service providers in Mauritius since 2004 and has grown in leaps and bounds since then. It provides a wide range of services like International calling cards, prepaid and post-paid mobile services, Internet and Mobile Broadband etc. With MTML’s   most affordable tariffs, the rates for the telecom services in Mauritius has drastically come down by more than 80% in the last three years. To serve its more than 100,000 customer base, the company has its customer care centers all over the island. 

The company is already having ‘Freedom Plan’ for its Postpaid and Prepaid Mobile service on CDMA platform which not only gives UNLIMITED calls on all CDMA numbers of MTML  but also provides UNLIMITED SMS on ANY LOCAL NETWORK OF MAURITIUS at a very reasonable monthly rental of Rs 250/- only. MTML is also providing high speed data access of incredible fast speed up to 3.2 Mbps through its Mobile Broadband service AZU at a very nominal rate. The coverage of this service is at all the strategic important locations in the island.

In its International Long Distance (ILD) service, MTML is offering very good voice quality at most affordable rates. The calls to UK & France (Fixed phones) have been brought down to Rs. 3.90/- per min, whereas that for China is Rs. 2.70/- per min.

MTML has launched ‘Chili’ GSM services in Mauritius, in November 2011. Using the latest GSM technology,the Chili service offers greater choice at affordable prices to Mauritians.

 MTML has invested around Rs 900 million on the new Chili network and the equipment has been supplied by ZTE Corp, one of the leading Telecom equipment manufacturers in the world. The advanced technology is very environment friendly and allows reduction in electricity consumption of around 60% compared to traditional equipment.
